This collection primarily contains bound manuscript notes, watercolors, and photographs from ornithologist David Armitage Bannerman’s trip to the Cape Verde Islands between 1903-1908, 1909-1912, and 1920. The collection includes one hand drawn map titled “Graciosa,” pages from publications on bird breeding, and a feather picked-up in Trinidad Gardens, Sandiago from a Guinea-fowl. Notes focus on the breeding of birds in the Cape Verde Islands.

The collection consists of nearly 400 letters, 14 notebooks, a few incomplete, and most pertaining to Job’s scientific work. It also contains approximately 820 lantern slides from Job’s research in the the Northeastern United States and Canada from the early 1900s depicting waterfowl and other birds.
